Jess D’Silva - Director

Jess holds a Master’s degree in Music Performance (MMus, specialising in vocal studies) and a BA (Hons) in Music from the University of Liverpool. She has been singing and playing the piano from a very young age, performing as a child mostly at family gatherings, much to the delight of her grandmother. Since then her popularity outside of her own personal circles has only increased (much to the delight of her grandmother), due in no small part to her dedication to extending her repertoire to include as many styles and genres as possible. As a result, although she is primarily trained as a classical soprano, Jess is well-versed in musical theatre, pop/rock, blues and jazz in addition to classical and operatic styles.

Over the course of the last 20 years, Jess has garnered much experience as both a performer and a teacher, including performances with BBC Radio Merseyside, both of Liverpool’s prestigious cathedrals, and until recently, as the lead singer of an 80’s rock tribute act, which she left in order to focus on developing Prelude School of Music, in addition to more intimate, solo performance projects.
